Program Name: Inclusive Minds Program
Location: Mysore (and surrounding areas)
Commitment: Part-time, flexible schedule (5–10 hours per week)
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension based on program needs)
About the Inclusive Minds Program
The Inclusive Minds Program is an initiative by TASK Educational Charitable & Welfare Trust® that focuses on addressing the systemic gaps in identifying and supporting children with Intellectual Disabilities (IDs) in mainstream education. By fostering collaboration among educators, parents, and graduate students, the program strives to create inclusive and equitable learning environments
Volunteers play a pivotal role in supporting the program’s mission by engaging in community outreach, supporting awareness campaigns, and assisting with critical program activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a volunteer, you will:
1. Support Awareness Campaigns:
• Assist in organizing and conducting workshops for educators, parents, and community members to build awareness about Intellectual Disabilities and reduce stigma.
• Distribute educational materials and participate in outreach events.
2. Assist in Program Implementation:
• Work alongside graduate interns and program facilitators to support classroom interventions and activities for children with IDs.
• Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and sessions held in schools.
3. Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as a liaison between schools, parents, and program facilitators to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
• Participate in focus group discussions and community meetings to gather feedback.
4. Support Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Help in data collection during program assessments (e.g., surveys, interviews).
• Assist in documenting success stories and progress reports for program evaluation and advocacy.
5. Be an Advocate for Inclusion:
• Represent the Inclusive Minds Program in local communities, spreading the message of educational inclusion and empowerment.
Qualifications and Skills
We’re looking for volunteers who are:
• Passionate about education, social impact, and inclusion.
• Strong communicators with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage tasks independently.
• Open to learning about Intellectual Disabilities and inclusive practices.
• Willing to commit at least 5–10 hours per week to the program.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in event coordination, community outreach, or working with children is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of psychology, special education, or social work is beneficial.
